As part of the Peterson Institute’s new series, Rebuilding the Global Economy, Lawrence H. Summers and Maurice Obstfeld will discuss their policy memos to the secretary and the under secretary of the US Treasury, respectively, at a virtual event on November 11, 2020. Peter Blair Henry from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business will join the discussion.
Lawrence H. Summers was the US Treasury secretary from 1999 to 2001. He is the Charles W. Eliot University Professor at Harvard University and vice chair of the PIIE board of directors. Maurice Obstfeld was former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund from 2015 to 2018. He is the Class of 1958 Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, and PIIE nonresident senior fellow. Peter Blair Henry is dean emeritus and the William R. Berkley Professor of Economics and Finance at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
