Public Social Spending (OECD)

Public social spending is high in many OECD countries published by OECD (1/2019). “At its peak during the Great Recession, public social expenditure amounted to 21% of GDP on average across the OECD. Spending has edged downwards since 2009, but in 2018 the average across the OECD was still above 20%. Since 2009, public social expenditure to GDP ratios fell in almost two-thirds of OECD countries, and the decline was most pronounced in Ireland and in Hungary…”
