Poverty Reduction (Ravallion)

A comparative perspective on poverty reduction in Brazil, China, and India by Martin Ravallion, published by World Bank. Brazil, China, and India have seen falling poverty in their reform periods, but to varying degrees and for diferent reasons. In terms of the pattern of growth and distributional change, China and India have had more in common; both have seen rapid growth, but with rising inequality (with more of both in China). Brazil saw little growth but falling inequality.
