The great recession and the developing countries: economic impact and growth prospects, published by World Bank, assesses the likely impact of the recent global crisis on medium term growth prospects of 10 diverse developing countries. In the introdution Otaviano Canuto and Justin Y. Lin comment that while the case studies do not constitute a statistically representative sample of the globe, they illustrate a broad range of experiences in the wake of the crisis and give insights into both the benefits and challenges of globalization. Other findings are that countries tend to fare better when they have a well managed current account balance and a track record of fiscal prudence.
