Crisis in Latin America (Serra)

The Governor of the State of São Paulo, José Serra, made a presentation in Washington DC regarding the effects of the crisis in Latin America. The Governor points out that the continent, known in the 80s for its widespread crisis, is now in a unique position. For him, the countries’ performance will depend on “how they interact with the global economy and above all, how successful they take advantage of their own national space to take decisive economic policies to promote their development according to their own specificities and interests”.
