Brazil: 2012 Article IV Consultation -Staff report published by IMF. “After strong growth in 2012, the Brazilian economy has slowed down, reflecting past policy tightening to contain inflation risks and, more recently, the weaker external environment. Domestic rebalancing would help secure strong, balanced growth…The credit in Brazil as well as in other countries in the Latin America region, has been growing very rapidly during the last years…International experienced points out that credit booms many end in busts. All credit categories have experienced strong growth rates in Brazil but especially so consumer credit.”
